The Troutman Classic Albany rocking chair is just that - a classic. This solid, handsome oak rocker is designed and built by expert craftsmen known all over the world for there quality handcrafted rocking chairs. The design of this chair is plain and simple, which adds to its appeal. The design and construction has not changed since 1924. This heirloom quality chair is great for sitting on the porch and enjoying the company of friends and family.

The chair is made employing Swelled Joint Construction, a technique borrowed from Shaker design that uses NO GLUE or harsh chemicals. The key is the moisture difference of the small and large posts. The larger posts shrink while the smaller ones expand making an extremely tight fit. This type of fit only gets tighter over time. The only thing that has been changed over the years has been the addition of stainless steel nails to enable outdoor use, and an additional comfort curve at the front of the seat. The featured item is shown above in the Deluxe Hunter Green finish. To see other finishes, click on the swatches above.

Troutman Chair Co., established in 1924,  uses sturdy oak stock from local loggers as they clear land for developing subdivisions, and does not cut trees just to make furniture.  The logs are brought to the on-site mills to ensure quality control, and a link to their time-honored way of doing things.

Included: One Rocking Chair
